Drivetrain to supply additional compressors to Santos

Drivetrain Power and Propulsion (Drivetrain), a subsidiary of Engenco Limited, is pleased to announce that it has been successful in securing a contract to supply and commission an additional 10 well head gas compressor packages to Santos. This contract follows on from the success of the first three compression units supplied by Drivetrain in July 2014.

“…Our first three gas well-head compression units have been very successful in a South Australian field and have exceeded performance expectations. We, together with our Canadian technology and manufacturing partner, Sage Energy, are very pleased with our future prospects in this market which include on-going maintenance services of our growing installed base,” said Kevin Pallas, CEO and Managing Director of Engenco Limited, during a recent ASX Announcement. “The growing number of units supplied to Santos underpins Drivetrain’s core maintenance and service capability” continued Mr Pallas.

The new compressor packages will consist of Frick oil flooded screw compressors with 203HP Caterpillar gas engine drivers, packaged together with process and auxiliary equipment, all located on a single skid. The design is a Sage Energy standard design which has been modified to be compliant with Australian Standards and operating conditions to meet Santos’ specific requirements.

Manufacture and Packaging of the compressor packages will occur in North America by Drivetrain’s packaging partner, Sage Energy. Each compressor package will undergo a comprehensive factory acceptance test in Calgary before being transported to Australia for site installation and commissioning by Drivetrain personnel.

With 190 gas fields containing 820 producing gas wells and 400 producing oil wells, the Cooper Basin is Australia’s most important on-shore petroleum and gas deposit. Our well head gas compressor packages are portable and will be relocated many times throughout their service life to meet the increasing demand for gas from the Cooper Basin.

“The growing number of units supplied into the industry is supported by Drivetrain’s core technical, maintenance and service capability.” Said Mr Pallas.
