New HGM Engine Hits the Market
As Dresser-Rand, a Siemens Company authorised distributor for Guascor engines and generators in Australia and New Zealand, Drivetrain Power and Propulsion is excited about the release of the newest model of Guascor engine: the Guascor® HGM 420 gas engine.
The 42-litre, V12 engine is rated for continuous duty at 1,040 kW mechanical and 1,010 kW electrical at 1,500 rpm, 50 Hz and can achieve efficiencies greater than 42 and 41 percent respectively.
Suitable for projects that require approximately 1 MWe of power, the engine can be supplied as standalone power units, as part of a cogeneration system on a skid, packaged as a gen-set, or containerized.
The Guascor HGM 420 gas engine is also able to recover heat from main and auxiliary water circuits, as well as heat from exhaust enabling it to achieve approximately 91 percent thermal efficiency.
The Guascor HGM 420 model is also available at 1,800 rpm for 60 Hz applications with 1,040 kW mechanical and 1,006 kW electrical output. The engines can burn a wide variety of fuels including natural gas, biogas from anaerobic digestion of organic matter, methane from landfill sites and sewage plants, and most any type of gas derived from bio digestion processes.
