GUASCOR POWER has been designing and manufacturing diesel and gas engines and energy systems since 1966, providing quality power outcomes for a range of applications and fuel types across 50 nations worldwide  with an installed base exceeding 5000MW.  Gastrain is proud to bring this wealth of experience to the Australian market.

As the sole Australian distributor for Guascor Power, Gastrain brings to the market a complete range of gas, biogas,  syngas and dual fuel engines for the energy, manufacturing, industrial government and resources sectors. Gastrain’s offering spans generator sets to complete cogeneration and energy generation modules for your remote power generation and combined heat and power projects.

Guascor Power engines are four-stroke, , turbocharged-after cooled engines with four valves per cylinder. Thanks to the application of the latest technologies in supercharging and fuel management, it is possible to obtain more power while reducing fuel consumption. The latest piston and cylinder-head designs and liner cooling systems guarantee a thermodynamic balance which results in lower combustion temperatures leading to less wear and a longer life-span of engine components.

Guascor Power Gas engines

Covering a wide power range from 150 to 1240 kW electrical output, Guascor Power gas engines  deliver class leading performance resulting in the lowest whole of life cost. One of the best ways to reduce costs and emissions associated with energy supply and consumption is the installation of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant also known as cogeneration and trigeneration. Guascor Power has a long track record providing reliable, economic engine drivers which form the core of many successful CHP plants around the globe..

Guascor Power Fuel Types

Our gas engines support many types of fuel, from the high energy content in Propane through Natural Gas, Bio Gas and a range of Synthetic gases each Guascor engine and its fuel system is optimised to extract maximum performance, durability and low emissions applicable to the fuel type.

Some of the materials and feedstock’s that have been successfully applied to Guascor Power engines include:

Syngas is produced from a range of organic or fossil based carbonaceous materials by heating the material without combustion.  The main elements in Syngas are Hydrogen and Carbon Dioxide.  Syngas produced by organic materials is considered a renewable fuel.

Landfill Gas is produced from the breakdown of putrescible materials within a landfill. Typically, landfill gases contain about 60% methane (CH4) however can contain many other elements depending upon chemical reactions within the landfill due to the composition of the landfill materials.

Produced by the breakdown of organic materials via anaerobic digestion or fermentation, the main elements in Bio Gas are Methane and Carbon Dioxide. Like land fill, Bio Gases can contain other elements that must be considered in gas engine applications.

Sewage Gas is a type of Bio Gas produced by the breakdown of organic materials via anaerobic digestion or fermentation. The characteristics of sewage gas are similar to those of Bio Gas

Natural Gas is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon gas found in deep underground rock formations.  Natural gas is the most common fuel used in gas engines.

Coal Seam Gas –  is mainly methane that is stored in the solid coal matrix  it is liberated during the process of mining of other recovery techniques such as hydraulic fracturing.

Propane is a byproduct of Natural Gas processing and oil refining. It is mainly used where natural gas fuel is not available as it can be easily compressed to a liquid for transportation. As a heavier hydrocarbon than methane consideration to the engine design and fuel systems is required when using propane as a fuel.
